Rave Reviews for HeBrews: A Better Blend
THIS EMAIL DROPPED into my inbox on a day when my heart needed a shot of encouragement. It came from a dear woman who is leading 10 ladies through HeBrews: A Better Blend Bible study, and I will be forever grateful that she was obedient to send it to me. Because you know what? It was a beautiful reminder that God’s plans are so much better and grander than any plan I could ever make.
I never planned to write a Bible study on the book of Hebrews. I mean, really! Biblical scholars cannot even agree on who wrote the book or the exact meaning of several portions of it. So, why would I think I could write a study on Hebrews?!
After I wrote and self-published my first Bible study I decided that I would not self-publish another book. A couple of years later God called me into a personal study of the book of Hebrews. It was fascinating and very enlightening but I never imagined it would become a Bible study. I began writing small portions of what I was learning on my blog and one day a friend emailed me, telling me that she knew someone who should read it. Long story short, my personal study of Hebrews became HeBrews: A Better Blend Bible study.
Here is how I described HeBrews to one lady who wanted to know what it was about:
HeBrews is a full-on, intense, Scripture-rich Bible study that takes the student through the entire book of Hebrews AND deep into the Old Testament to examine how Jesus is the fulfillment of all that was done in the Old Testament to seek oneness and right standing before God.
I prayed like mad and wrote as the Lord gave me words. I knew I had to be intentional in writing this study so that everyone, from Bible study newbies to seasoned students of the Word, could learn something from it. The study launched in mid-2014 and I have been slack-jawed at some of the emails and letters I have received about it. May I share a few comments about HeBrews: A Better Blend?
“I have to tell you that I LOVE the lessons and the way that you have designed the study.”
“Dear Leah,
I had to share what a blessing your Bible Study has been to me and it's only week one. Originally, the plan was to use the study for our women's group (which we are), but our Lord had an additional plan as usual.
My husband has been feeling convicted because he hasn't been spending as much time in the Word as he would like. I asked him if he would assist me in completing the homework for week one. He of course agreed to help me and it has been such a blessing. We spent hours together completing the assignments and meditating on the Scripture. What was planned for the women, has turned out to be a great blessing for my husband and I. Anxious to start week two! Thank you and Lord Bless you!”
“Our women’s group used your study on Hebrews and it was nothing short of Amazing!”
And this from a dear gentleman in one of my former churches:
“You have a unique writing style that makes a student feel right at home in the study. Your personal references are enough that one can identify with you. You style does not intimidate a new believer which was very important to me. The Meditation Moments at the end of each day of HeBrews are extremely powerful and effective. HeBrews has blessed me beyond my ability to describe. For all of this I give thanks to the Lord Jesus Christ.”
What more could an author ask for than for the words God gave her to write to sink deeply within the hearts of the readers and bring them into a closer relationship with Him! It’s the pinnacle, the prize for a lot of praying and writing to know that Jesus has been lifted high in the hearts of those who utilize HeBrews.
If your small group is seeking an in-depth Bible study, would you consider HeBrews: A Better Blend? If you are looking for a study to dig into on your own, would you consider HeBrews: A Better Blend? I promise that your time in Scripture studying the amazing book of Hebrews will deepen your faith and usher you into a more intimate relationship with Jesus.
Leah Adams calls herself ‘the prodigal son’s sister’. In spite of asking Jesus to be the Lord of her life at age 15, Leah chose to walk her own path in her twenties, relegating Jesus to a lesser place. In spite of her poor choices, Jesus never relegated Leah to a lesser place. He was always waiting, with arms open wide, and a heart filled with love, grace, and mercy for her to come back home. Today, Leah’s passion is communicating the beauty and authenticity of Scripture while making it practical and relatable to the listener’s daily life. Leah is the author of several books published by Warner Press, including HeBrews, Tasting Grace and When Words Won't Come.
