Introduction

About James

Long before smart phones and the digital lifestyle appeared on the horizon, James spoke wisdom to anyone who will listen: “Blessed are doers of the word, not hearers only.” Information is great but even the best information, the word of God, is incomplete without action. Action is the real currency of the twenty-first century. James: Recipe for a Living Faith is a six-week instruction manual on the Christian faith, penned by James, a younger brother of Jesus. In this study, the reader will consider topics that are essential to a dynamic and powerful faith journey: faith and works, staying faithful under persecution, partiality in the body of Christ, patience, the importance of taming the tongue, and prayer.

Through her writing, Leah is available and transparent to open up her treasure chest called life. It's full of wisdom, life experiences, and revelation that have challenged and encouraged lives all over the world. Lean in, take notes, and apply the wisdom revealed in the Book of James. It's like a cool drink of water in the desert, continually refreshing those who will engage with it.

As a wonderful, creative writer, Leah Adams managed to magically place herself in the midst of our women's Bible study group each week as we studied HeBrews: A Better Blend. We could almost imagine her sitting among us explaining and interpreting the characters, history, and fascinating details of a book that might have easily been daunting. Leah became a teacher and a friend to us. She was honest, genuine, and we trusted her.

Leah has done it yet again. She not only scratches the surface of James, but she digs deep and finds the good, the bad, and the ugly. Leah brings you into the Bible with her and let’s you experience it as if you were there. She makes you question tough subjects all while bringing James to the present. It’s a breath of fresh air and not something just written to please everyone. Thank you, Leah, for another amazing bible study.

We would never expect to enjoy an exquisite, homemade meal if all we did was read over the recipe and then sit down with our company. No. Dining requires preparation. Cooking. Action. Leah Adams helps us see that the same is true when it comes to living lives that reveal and glorify Christ in her newest study, “James: Recipe for a Living Faith.” Leah reminds us that if we want to help others taste and see that the Lord is good, we cannot just read God’s Word. We must live it.

We also recommend Leah's other Bible Study, HeBrews: A Better Blend, by Warner Press. This (HeBrews: A Better Blend) has been a great study! One of the best I've ever done or led.

Hebrews: A Better Blend

HeBrews A Better Blend is all about better things with faith in Jesus being the focal point of all things better. In this Bible study, Leah Adams teaches us from the Old and New Testaments, showing how the writer of Hebrews blended a beautiful mixture of Old Covenant theology, with Jesus and the New Covenant He instituted with His blood.

Tasting Grace

In the last two generations, home-cooked meals and family dinner time have fallen victim to fast food and even faster schedules. The truth is, young or old, women need women. There are some things only a woman can plant in the soul of another woman.

When Words Won't Come

Challenging. Encouraging. Practical. Real. The scripture and devotionals in this book will meet you right where you are. You will be reminded of who God is, of your purpose in this world and that Someone is in control of a world that seems to be spinning out of control. When you are facing difficulties and have no words, you will be reminded that God's Word always has an answer for every situation you face.
