Spring is a Season of Celebration

Spring is a Season of Celebration

Most people express their love language in one of five ways, several of which include words of encouragement, quality time or acts of kindness.

My love language is none of those. My love language is SPRING.

Springtime…when the snow melts away, the clouds roll away and winter moves far, far away.

Springtime…when purple crocuses pop through soil, robins get fat and grass turns green.

I love all things spring, which is probably why I have a personal stash of greeting cards too many to list. I cannot help but celebrate. And I cannot help but share my celebration in notes to the people I love. While Warner Press supplies me with all the greeting cards I need, I’ve recently come to realize this wonderful Christian publishing company helps me celebrate spring in a myriad of ways and with a myriad of other products.

Church Curriculum

By the time spring rolls around where I live in Indiana, most snowbirds have returned from their warmer Florida or Arizona homes and our church becomes a beehive of activity once again. I particularly enjoy our Sunday school class. Although I know there’s plenty of curriculum for us to choose from, we use Bridges: Connecting God’s Word to Life (I happen to use the large print edition). Each lesson is well-designed and easy to follow. The questions encourage our class to talk openly and honestly about our faith journeys. And the study portion includes both Scripture and commentary so we can dig deeper in the Word together. This curriculum can be used for any adult age group and for small groups also. It facilitates growth in our lives and closeness in our community group.

Speed Sketch Curriculum

I wasn’t familiar with Speed Sketch Curriculum until recently. Although it’s intended for classroom use, I was so impressed that I bought a copy to keep in my home. I share it with families who are visiting, especially those with younger children.

As a Bible story is told, the screen shows a drawing of the same story coming to life. Colors and shapes are added, areas filled in and, by the time the story ends, an entire illustration covers the screen. I love it. But even more, our friends’ children ask for Speed Sketch when they visit.

Easter Products

Last year when I attended an Easter service at a local church, the greeter handed me a program, or worship bulletin, similar to this one. I loved the image so much that I framed the bulletin and hung it in my guest bedroom.

Most people enjoy the pretty picture on the front of a Sunday or special occasion church program. They might also feel grateful for the corresponding Scripture. But occasionally a bulletin gets handed out that God uses in that very moment to speak to a life, to change a life. This is what the bulletin I referenced earlier did for me. An Easter sunrise, a field of flowers, the name of Jesus, my resurrected Savior and a Scripture all reminded me of my position, my identity in Christ. Because of what Jesus did for me at Easter, I am redeemed, alive and set free.

Mother’s Day and Father’s Day

I’ve been blessed to have a number of mother and father figures speak into my life. Aside from my parents, I think of my college track coach, my mother-in-law and father-in-law, my women’s Bible study teacher from 25 years ago, and a favorite aunt. When Mother’s Day rolls around, I send cards to more people than just my biological mother. Boxed cards provide me with four different images and words I can afford to send out to those special people. Through these Mother’s Day and Father’s Day cards, I tell the special people who have influenced my life through the years just how much they mean to me.

I don’t need a reason for celebrating spring. The season arrives right on time. I can’t help but celebrate. However, all these (and other) amazing Warner Press products become part of my springtime celebration, because they remind me of the One who brings spring, created all the seasons and offers joy to me every day of the year.
