Description


Position Summary

The Marketing Communications and Social Media Internship position is a summer position within the Warner Press Marketing Team. It is designed to help those interested in journalism, communication, public relations, marketing or a related field learn and develop their craft with hands-on experience. The position will work with the team to support various project needs. Successful candidates have a strong desire to work in a fast-paced, innovative, yet caring business environment. At Warner Press, interns will work closely with experienced Marketing and Communications professionals while gaining valuable hands-on learning and full-time work experience for their careers. Interns are assigned a long-term project that they work on during their 8-10 week internship in addition to daily responsibilities. Internships are unpaid, but we will work with your university to provide you with a college credit-worthy experience.

What You’ll Do

Through our summer internship program, university students gain an understanding of how to instill confidence and enable business growth with our products, customers, and internal processes while making meaningful work contributions. Through our Intern Program, you’ll receive practical on-the-job training and will work with project teams and a mentor to guide you through the corporate experience.
  • Work with the marketing team and company stakeholders to create the best solution to a specific problem or opportunity
  • Solve common problems in ways that can be reused effectively
  • Execute email marketing (Mailchimp) campaigns and work within Content Management Systems to update web content
  • Use social media platforms (Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, Google+, LinkedIn, blogging, etc.) to build our brand and engage with customers
  • Build and execute social media strategy through competitive research, platform determination, benchmarking, messaging and audience identification; aquire adequate knowledge of social networking and social analytics tools and online marketing opportunities
  • Draft content for marketing materials and tools, including brochures, fact sheets and website on deadline
  • Collaborate with design, marketing and sales teams on all assigned projects to develop quality products and content
  • Provide support for events as required
  • Work effectively as a team player

Qualifications

  • Pursuing a degree in Journalism, Public Relations, Communications, Marketing and/or related field
  • A desire to learn and grow in fast-paced environment
  • Great communication and collaboration skills, both written and oral
  • Ability to edit content
  • A compelling online portfolio
  • Previous internship or related experience in marketing or communications is a plus
  • Must be computer literate (working knowledge of word processing, PowerPoint, Excel). Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud is a plus
  • Ability to communicate in a professional manner with a variety of audiences
  • Self-motivated, good organizational skills, detail-oriented, ability to prioritize, multi-task and meet deadlines
  • High comfort level with using social media platforms (Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, Google+, LinkedIn, blogging, etc.)
  • Interest in new web and digital technologies
  • Basic to intermediate knowledge of HTML and CSS is a plus

Graphic Design/Marketing Summer Intern

At Warner Press, interns will have the opportunity to work closely with experienced Marketing and Design professionals while gaining valuable hands-on learning and full-time work experience for their careers. Interns are assigned a long-term project that they work on during their 8-10 week internship in addition to daily responsibilities. Internships are unpaid, but we will work with your university requirements to provide you with a college credit-worthy experience.

What You’ll Do

  • Create gorgeous, original designs for print catalogs, advertisements, sales sheets, as well as web and social media graphics
  • Collaborate with marketing team and company stakeholders to create the best solution to a specific problem or opportunity
  • Solve common problems in ways that can be reused effectively
  • Align visual design work with existing brand materials
  • Create new designs that support marketing goals and objectives while providing solid design rationale
  • Collaborate with design, marketing and sales teams on all assigned projects to develop quality materials
  • Take a project through completion including design, layout, production, and proofing
  • Work effectively as a team player

Qualifications

  • Pursuing a degree in Graphic Design, Marketing or a relevant field
  • Strong expertise with Adobe Creative Cloud
  • A desire to learn and grow in fast-paced environment
  • Great communication and collaboration skills
  • A compelling portfolio
  • Expertise/Interest in brand development and execution
  • A passion for creating innovative designs for web and print campaigns.
  • High skill level in using the Adobe Creative Suite for print and web design.
  • Basic to intermediate knowledge of HTML and CSS is a plus.
  • Familiarity with email marketing (Mailchimp) and Content Management Systems
  • High comfort level with using social media platforms (Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, Google+, LinkedIn, blogging, etc.).
  • Effective writing and editing capability is a plus
  • Attention to detail
  • Interest in new web and digital technologies
